How to draw watercolor eucalyptus leaves branches in Procreate

How to draw a watercolor eucalyptus branch in Procreate | tutorial

Painting eucalyptus is one of the most relaxing, almost meditative things you can do in Procreate — the soft, rounded leaves and muted greens make it a wonderfully calm process from start to finish. This tutorial is perfect for beginners: there’s no tricky anatomy to get right, just a few simple shapes and a bit of texture.

In this step-by-step video, I’ll show you how to paint a delicate eucalyptus branch using my Soft Watercolor Procreate Brushes, which give that soft, slightly translucent look of real watercolor paint.

What you’ll learn in this tutorial

  • Painting the leaves — laying down the soft, rounded eucalyptus leaf shapes in their base color.
  • Adding volume — using a darker shade along with stamp brushes that carry a watercolor-blot texture, to give each leaf depth and a natural, painterly feel.
  • Drawing the stem — finishing the branch by connecting everything together with the stem.

About the brushes

This tutorial uses my own Soft Watercolor Procreate Brushes. I’m a watercolor artist myself, and I built these brushes from my own hand-painted textures — so they behave like real watercolor: soft edges, natural pigment pooling, and stamp brushes that recreate the texture of actual watercolor blots. They work beautifully for eucalyptus, florals, or really any botanical illustration.
